1. 🚗 Ride-hailing (Uber / Lyft) or Taxi — Most Recommended & Hassle-Free

Since the hotel is located in the northern suburb of Markham, taking public transit with large luggage can be quite tiring. Taking a car is the most direct and fastest option.

• Time: Approx. 30 - 40 minutes (without traffic). Time may double during morning or evening rush hours.
• Reference Cost:
  • Uber / Lyft: ~65 - 90 CAD (depending on vehicle type, real-time demand, and time of day).
  • Official Airport Taxi: Taxis from the airport to Markham usually charge a flat rate or run on a meter, typically costing around 75 - 110 CAD (excluding tips).
• Pick-up Location: Follow terminal signs to the designated "Ride-Share" or "Taxi" pick-up zones.

2. 🚌 Regional Bus + Local Transit (GO Transit + YRT) — Most Economical

If you have minimal luggage and want to experience public transit, you can use the cross-city buses. There is no direct subway or bus from the airport to the hotel, requiring at least one transfer.

  1. Step 1: At the Terminal 1 ground-level bus station, take the GO Transit Route 40 bus (heading towards Richmond Hill) and alight at Richmond Hill Centre.
  2. Step 2: Inside Richmond Hill Centre, transfer to a local York Region Transit (YRT) bus (such as the Viva Purple rapid transit or regular Route 1 bus) heading east, and alight at Highway 7 / Allstate Pkwy.
  3. Step 3: Walk approximately 3-5 minutes to reach the hotel at 50 East Valhalla Drive.
• Time: Approx. 1 - 1.5 hours (depending on wait and transfer times).
• Reference Cost: ~12 - 15 CAD. Using a PRESTO card or directly tapping a contactless credit/debit card will provide a transfer discount.

💡 Summary Recommendations:

• If you have just landed, are carrying large luggage, or are traveling in a group of 2 or more, we strongly recommend taking an Uber or taxi directly from the airport. Splitting the fare makes it the most cost-effective and comfortable choice.
• If you only have a backpack or small suitcase, want to save money, and are not in a rush, Option 2 (GO Route 40 transferring to Viva bus) is the most reasonable public transit route.
• If you are landing late at night, some bus services will be reduced, making a taxi your safest and only viable option.
